Whimsical Deer

“Whimsical Deer is a color pencil artwork of a fantastical deer expressing light, love, life, and adventure. This work was inspired by my love for fantasy books. This work is watercolor-esque because it is colored pencil blending with gamsol making a watercolor-like texture. This was created freehand, based on my passion and joy of fantasy universes and whimsical animals. I captured the shapes and designs in a bright and adventurous color palette that is challenging reality and is expressing the fun of childlike fantasies, the importance of having light in the darkest of times (my light is Jesus!), and the beauty of expressing our individuality through our unique gifts and skills.
